Milners of Liverpool became well known for manufacturing fire-resistant safes during the 19th century. Plaques of this design were mounted prominently on their safes, combining the Milners name with the Royal Arms and the company's “212 Patent” branding. Removed from the safe it once identified, this plaque survives as an impressive piece of Victorian industrial design and engineering history.
